Wedding Series: Part 5 – Wedding Photography

Wedding

Videography

I contemplated for a long time on whether or not we should get a video package for our wedding.  Every single package I looked at was so expensive and my husband was against having a videographer at our wedding anyway, which made my decision easier. One of our wedding guests actually recorded our wedding ceremony and it was lovely and saved us hundreds of pounds. Instead of hiring a videographer, we opted to have 2 photographers, this way we knew that everything would be captured.

However, if you have the budget for it, I would definitely suggest having a videographer.  You’ll definitely want to look back on your wedding vows and your first dance as husband and wife!

Cyprus has quite an abundance of photographers available and at least one will suit your budget.  For our wedding, we hired Capture Photography and I cannot recommend them enough!

We chose Capture Photography for two reasons: their competitive pricing and because they are a two-photographer team.

It was important for us to have two photographers since we didn’t have a videographer.  It was also very reassuring when I learned that the Capture Photography team were husband and wife, Kali and Dimitris.

A few weeks before the wedding I filled out a questionnaire and made a list of all the must-have photos. This list came in handy especially when it was time to take pictures with the family.  Just make sure that you double and triple check your list because your day will fly by and you won’t be thinking straight.

Kali from Capture Photography was so easy to talk to and made me feel at ease about my wedding planning. She also calmed me down and made me feel better when my husband decided to be silly and go for a ride in an inflatable boat right before our wedding pictures.

Boys will be boys ..

My husband’s trousers and suit jacket were completely soaked during our pictures but Kali and Dimitris composed our pictures in a way that it wasn’t so obvious.

Photo captured by Capture Photography of my husband and his best man being silly before our wedding photos in Cyprus.

Kali also told me stories of silly things her husband has done.   She also reassured me that the morning after our wedding, the incident with the inflatable boat would be something to laugh about.  She was right.

Also, all the pictures in my Wedding Series posts have been taken by Kali and Dimitris and I hope this gives you a good idea of their photography style.

If you are in need of a photographer in Cyprus, then I highly recommend Capture Photography.
Give them a shout and see if they are available for your event!

  • Oh my gosh!! those shoes!!! They are so cute! The photography looks beautiful. Smart idea on getting two photographers! And that’s lovely that someone recorded a video for you. I only had one photographer at my first wedding. If I ever get married again I would definitely consider hiring two (unless it’s a small wedding again) and definitely a videographer!

    • Pssst, I’ll let you in on a secret – those shoes cost me only £20 from amazon! But they looked so pretty that I just couldn’t pass them up!

  • Jenni Grainger

Stunning photos, I’m glad you have your photos and the video from your guest to look back on x

    • thank you, it was actually very lovely to look back on the photos as I was writing this post x

  • These are beautiful photographs. We had a video of our wedding and I’m so glad that we did. We have watched it so much and it’s lovely to sit with the children to watch. Without being morbid it has also been nice to see people who have passed, to see their personality rather than just a photograph. It never fails to make me smile x

    • Aw, that’s a very good point, I’m glad we have bits and pieces of the wedding on camera. x

  • Kara

I really wish we had a video done. We had a video camera there but my dopey husband forgot to put the disc in!

    • Haha, that seems to be a trend with men on their wedding day .. my dad was taking his own photos on our camera, and the next day he realised he forgot to put in a memory card. x

  • Beautyqueenuk

Looking back to my wedding, this is one thing I definitely overlooked and I do kind of regret it x

    • Don’t we all wish that we could redo our wedding knowing all that we know now?! x

  • Ickle Pickle

I did have a video at my wedding – it was a beautiful memory (until we got divorced!) Kaz x

  • Dominique

Such stunning photos! Looks like a gorgeous day xx
